Course Overview – Build Your Front-of-House Career in Hospitality (Apprenticeship)
Ready to lead on the floor? The Certificate IV in Hospitality equips you with the practical skills and confidence to take on supervisor responsibilities across cafés, restaurants, bars, hotels and event venues. This nationally recognised qualification focuses on team leadership, outstanding guest experience and smooth day-to-day operations.
Throughout the course, you will build capability in coordinating front-of-house service, coaching and supporting staff, creating basic rosters, monitoring work operations and working to a budget. You will refine service expertise in food and beverage, espresso and bar service, reservations and booking systems, hygiene, food safety and workplace health and safety. Learning combines trainer-led sessions with hands-on activities and realistic scenarios so you can apply new skills straight away.
Graduates can step into roles such as team leader, shift supervisor, duty manager, front-of-house supervisor, food and beverage supervisor or functions supervisor. You will be ready to lead service, support your team and maintain high standards under pressure.

Requirements
Education: There are no formal education entry requirements for this course.
Minimum Age: You will need to be at least 18 years old.
Language, Literacy and Numeracy: As part of the enrolment process, you’ll complete a brief LLN assessment to ensure the course is the right fit and identify any areas where you may need additional support.
Pre-Training Review & Enrolment Application: Before enrolling, you’ll take part in a Pre-Training Review to confirm your suitability and learning needs, and complete a short enrolment form.
Technology Access: You’ll need access to a computer, tablet or smartphone with internet to complete your assessments, communicate with your trainer, and access training materials.

If you do not meet the Eligibility Criteria you can still undertake the course as a Fee For Service student. Your fees are $3,995.

1. Fill out our Student Questionnaire
The Student Questionnaire helps us get to know you before we pass your details to the RTO providing the course. This is simply the first step so we can better understand your background and connect you with the training provider. Clear, accurate responses help us guide you on funding and place you in the most suitable class.
2. Speak to one of our Student Liaison Coordinators
Once you have completed your Student Questionnaire, one of our Student Liaison Coordinators will give you a courtesy call to:

Speak further about your career goals and suitability for the course.

Give you additional information and answer any further questions you may have.
If you decide that you would like to proceed with the application process after speaking with one of our Student Liaison Coordinators then we will hand your details over to Complete Hospitality Training to begin the enrolment process.
3. Attend an Information Session & enrol into the course.
The course information session is your opportunity to speak with one of Complete Hospitality Training’s friendly course advisors, hear key details about the course, and ask as many questions as you like. If you choose to study the qualification, you’ll then complete an Enrolment Application Form. Attendance at an information session is compulsory if you want to enrol.

Unique Student Identifier (USI) — Create your USI here.

Victorian Student Number (VSN) — Only required if you are 24 years of age or less at the time of enrolment.

Evidence of Citizenship/Residency such as a Green Medicare Card.
Please have these documents with you at the Information Session. Completion of the Enrolment Application Form does not guarantee enrolment. A Complete Hospitality Training authorised delegate will review your application and determine the progression of enrolment.

4. First day of class
On your first day of class, you’ll be introduced to the course, including an overview of the curriculum, schedule, and expectations. You’ll meet your trainer, familiarise yourself with the classroom environment, and complete any necessary administrative tasks. There will also be time to ask questions and address any concerns to ensure you feel prepared and confident as you begin your learning journey. Make sure to arrive on time and bring any required materials as outlined in your welcome email.
