Trainer and Assessor – Diploma of Mental Health

About the Role:

Are you a qualified Mental Health worker or work within the Community Services, Aged Care or Disability industry? Are you a qualified trainer having worked within an RTO and delivered this course. We are seeking passionate and experienced trainers to join our dynamic team to facilitate our Diploma of Mental Health (CHC53315).  To be able to teach this qualification, you must have a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) and a Diploma in Mental Health (preferred).  

What your engagement will look like:

  • Your core role is to deliver dynamic training to students, support them through their pathway and to mark their assignments. There is no requirement for you to create or write training content.

  • Our Training is completed by blended learning both face-to-face within a classroom and online.  

  • Support your students as they complete 160 hours of industry work placement, as placed by Stirling’s Work Placement Coordinators.

  • Your students could range from school graduates to mature aged members and come from a variety of professional and cultural backgrounds.

  • You will be required to work towards Stirling’s compliance requirements, such as completing attendance registers or supporting surveys.

  • The Diploma in Mental Health is delivered one day a week over approximately 12 months.  You will run a few of our courses over the days you are working.

  • We are seeking trainers to commence in January and train from our multiple training locations in regional Victoria.

Successful applicants should possess:

  • Diploma In Mental Health and significant work experience in Allied Health or related industry

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116)

  • Passion to train and motivate others

  • Ability to deliver dynamic engaging training

  • Ability to deliver engaging face to face and virtual training (via Zoom)

  • Excellent time management and communication skills

  • Excellent computer/email/Zoom/internet skills

  • Drivers license and own reliable transport

  • Working with Children Check

  • Any other associated qualifications would be highly regarded
